And a gutter mouth to boot Magoo. You can do better than her Stevie, not much better, but a bit.
Dot Cotton springs to mind, or how about that nice merry widow, Pauline Fowler?
If you can handle yer woman having a drink problem but has GREAT tits, then you can't go far wrong with that lovable cockney sparrow, Lisa

The West London of my youth is now on dvd

The Office: absolute rubbish
The League Of Gentlemen: absolute rubbish

The best comedy: Fawlty Towers

I will be getting Soap - The Complete First Season (region 1 disc) soon.
I just hope it lives up to my memory of it. This must have been the most groundbreaking comedy ever.

Totally agree Steptoe & Son is an alltime Classic

Porridge was good but nothing that will be remembered by the masses in 20 years like Fawlty Towers.

Maybe the reason for Fawlty Towers being so well recognised is that there were so few episodes and the obvious recognition a show gets when a well known name is associated with it-ie John Cleese.

The only comedy that comes to mind as being worthy of Classic status is Black Adder

Brilliantly written & performed-a class above the rest IMHO

Its all subjective so not really worth thinking about

cheers
