The Future of UK porn?

Post by escape »

After posting on the ?most extreme? thread last night it got me to thinking?..

If we now accept that there are 13 to 15 year old boys viewing the same hardcore content as everybody else online, (if fact these little rascals are most probably viewing the hardest stuff you can find) and we also accept that there are not many easily identifiable new directions that porn can take.

Then surely these two things combined will result in a new generation of young men who will have become immune to the charms of mainstream porn and also an adult industry that is aware of this and feels that the only direction is to make the content harder and more extreme.

So, in a round about way of trying to keep this clearly on topic, what does this mean for the future of the current UK porn starlets?

In five to ten years time will the new bread of posters be ranting over how great their favourite girl is because she managed to be choked unconscious and brought around again three times in one scene and yet still managed to take the money shot with a smile on her face.

I would be interested to know what people thought, do you think that because of the internet giving young forming minds access to the hardest porn available that in years to come the new girls will have to make their mark in a totally different industry to how it is now and the girls of today will just be remembered with fondness by those who can remember how it used to be..

Or do you feel that it is people like myself, who have already expressed an interest in the harder side of what makes porn porn, that will be to blame for setting the ball rolling in this direction.

Or is it just like any drug, the more you have the more you end up needing..

I very much hope that Sandie is right.

Extreme porn is not my cup of tea and I have posted before on this forum about my hopes/concerns that UK porn does not have sufficient financial resources or collaboration to produce Vivid style quality glamorous pornography. It doesn't help that UK models prefer to draw the line at hard g/g when mainstream interest is presumably for b/g.

I know personal preferences apply in porn, but I have always worked on the theory that pornography had some basis on real life sex, just more attractive, glamorous, erotic, etc, etc. It is a sad look out for the goings on behind bedroom doors if the more extreme stuff has some basis in real sex.

I also personally hope that porn does take a turn away from the extreme side. In one of my posts on the first thread on this topic I said I like to watch the extreme stuff if for no other reason than to feel that I am actually watching something real.

I would be more than happy if another direction could be found that held my interest in the same way but as Marcus Allen so succinctly, if indirectly pointed out, the desire to see the extreme has always been a part of human nature and always will be.

If porn does take a different direction away from the extreme does anybody have an idea what direction this is going to be?

I can?t help thinking that once everybody has high speed broadband, much higher than today?s standards, then the market in DVD?s will become obsolete and with the advent of high quality fast downloads people will be able to demand exactly what they want from the world of porn.

This together with far lower production cost and most importantly the total freeing up of distribution will allow smaller companies to deliver anything the viewer can think of..

Salvador Dali had a vision of 2 people dressed in sheets with just eye holes cut out. The 2 people would be sexually exited just by looking at each other.
That's right, he saw Iraqi porn!

In the future UK porn would include flogging, gun play, canibalism, sexual violence, erotic strangulation, extreme family rape torture incest snuff and a little bit of politics.

I know, I was there...

We've discussed this before, and I pointed out then that I and several others I've talked to haven't gravitated toward the more extreme shores after a while.
Your taste is your taste, and that won't change. You'll probably just go and find something else to do when you're sated. Or not. But porn probably is subject to the Law of Diminishing Returns.

I think your initial premise is wrong, both for porn, alcohol and drugs. There is no general desensitising effect for most people. While it is likely those people who watch violent porn started with topshelf glamour mags or internet softcore, it is not cause and effect. Just as those who enjoy some social cannabis smoking are pre-terminal-heroin addicts.

Viewers will stop at levels where they feel comfortable and, for the vast majority, this will not include violence. And no-one will make videos if there's no market.

Now, forty years after collecting my first black & white dirty postcards age 11, I still can't better watching an attractive woman (of any age) enjoying a good seeing to. With the emphasis on enjoying.
