What the Hell is an MPA File???

What ever it is sounds like its possibly your default player

The last time I had video trouble I downloaded a free 30 trial product from
5.9mb....fixed everything that was wrong somehow

might be audio format from a demuxed mpeg file - I'd try to re-install windows media player (version 7?)

or re-install IE5/6

when in doubt - re-install
