Erm, does anyone really believe this woman exists? I know a lot of war journos and at the time they were of the belief that JL was someone invented to (in a Saving Private Ryan style) up jingosim in the US and morale amongst the troops after three fatal friendly fire incidents within 24 hours. Seemed to get lost too easy ("ooh, I forgot to go with the rest of my troop") and found too easy ("a nice Iraqi doctor phoned Mr Bush"). Bollocks to it all. Nothing I have heard or seen since leads me to believe any different to what my journo mates said at the time - she doesn't really exist (yes, there's a lady now on TV being interviewed and selling books, but she damn sure looks more like an out-of-work actress than a soldier). The exploitative and deliberately shocking "I was told by army doctors I'd been raped (but I can't recall it)" statement on the day before the book's in-store release stinks of clumsy Pentagon muppets. Sorry, but it does.

Was your last visit to the cinema as long ago as 1997?. My last visit was in 1973 to see Steptoe and Son Ride Again. I wonder if anyone out there can beat that, 30 years since a last cinema visit.
