I agree with Deuce. England are a 1 player team who rely on the ref. to award them penalties. Open to bribery????

Any official is open to bribery but I'm not buying it

I wouldn't say England were a 1 man team.....a good pack with an iffy backline and a great number 10 about sums them up

I never understand why teams take the 3 points when they are in the oppositions22.

Trying to put the crowd to sleep maybe?

As for drop goals being worth the same as a penalty-what utter bollocks

cheers

Penalties should be graded as to the the particular offence and if the kick is taken at the goal should have differing values and drop goals reduced to one as in RL. Also why is it that "feeding the scrum" only a free kick?. Surely you should be penalised more severely for trying to get an advantage? especially in front of your own posts Another point that I am always concerned about is when a player jumps to catch a kick he cannot be touched in the air because it is considered dangerous (which I admit it is) but surely he is trying to get an unfair advantage and a penalty. I consider this ploy to be not in the spirit of the game

Sounds a little to complicated

What ever they do with the penalty system the opposition will try to infringe for the least amount.Just comes down to infringements being more severely
punished than with penalties especially inside the 22

Penalty tries need to be given more often in my opinion
maybe a better system would be for the try to be worth 6 points and not 5
I agree drop goals are worth 1 at most

South Africa are the past masters of giving away penalties to stop a try
of course the refs are way to lenient...1,2,3, warnings...utter baloney
Everybody knows the rules...1 warning max and then your off

One thing is for certain players being lifted in the line-ups or at the kick off should be banned...as David Giffin found out to his detriment when his teamates let him hit the deck

As for the high ball theres nothing stopping the opposition from jumping for it as well. Its a fine line between jumping for the ball and hitting the ball mid air at pace as Lote Tiquiri(spelling) did against the all blacks.

Think the rule change where you can call mark in the air is just plain silly
It takes guts to stand on the ground and catch the ball while the thundering herd are on their way to meet you.Now its a case of jump off the ground and nobody can touch you as Jonny Wilkinson showed against France

If the refs gave only one warning and then he's off I think you would end up with about eleven or less players on each side. By the way what is the minimum number of players of one side on the pitch to allow the match to continue?. In soccer I believe there must be six players of either side to constitute a match, but I may be wrong.

Most rugby players are smart enough to only need 1 warning
although some of the French & Argentinians might be doubtful

Players are currently aware of the leniency so they use up their 1/2/3 indigressions at the appropriate moments until the REF issues the ultimatum to the captain-it shouldn't get to that stage

No idea what the minmum would be

Maybe enough to pack a scrum down and feed it

Of course not but we're not in the same league as the Rest especially the South Africans who always push the envelope

Smith & Waugh are probably Australias worst for indigressions
They seem to disregard the Ref when he's saying leave it alone-pretty dumb

England have perfected their disruptions-very subtle

Martin Johnson is the best at it especially in the line-out
