Tim Burton's Big Fish

Post by Terry May »

This is the 'Batman' directors new film out end of January 2004 starring Ewan Macgregor.

Story
A son tries to find the truth in the tall tales his dying father tells to finally get to truly know his father.

Pros
-Some highly entertaining and quirky moments

Cons
-Too long
-Many of the tales are just not interesting enough

After the remake of Planet of the Apes this is yet another disappointing Tim Burton film. His next is meant to be another remake , this time of Charlie And the chocolate factory. Lets hope it s a return to form after this which is just dull , dull, dull. The most recent fil of his that I enjoyed was Sleepy Hollow and although his films tend to divde people I'm finding his work increasingly patchy.

No disrespect, but couldn't you have waited until the end of January 2004 to post this, when the majority of us are more likely to have seen it? It's not even December yet.

just a review - I do my best not to put any spoilers in. And after all when it's not a particularly good film as this isn't hopefully it will save you time and money seeing it.

I'm here to help!!!

I'll be posting a 'Return of the King' review very soon.

Fair do's. Didn't mean to sound shirty. As for Burton, after Planet of the Apes I'm suprised they didn't throw him in jail, frankly. Surely the worst ending ever committed to film.

and it was also stolen from a Kevin Smith ('Clerks', 'Dogma' Jay And Silent Bob strike back') comic book!!

It made sense from the comic book but made no sense whatsoever for Burton Planet of the Apes remake!! Still don't understand it now. They were never going to top the fabulous ending of the original - so why they changed is anyones guess!

And Big Fish is just dull - avoid!
