I suppose for an ideal update you'd need a subject matter that itself has been updated during the passing of time. Six million dollars would barely amount to the removal of tonsils these days, I imagine. So how about remaking that old childrens serial The Changes, where all technology suddenly ground to halt? You could put a fascinating spin on that in this day and age. Didn't the end involve some sort of mystic stone?
