Behind the 'jocular facade' I am in fact rubicund, cheery and well-disposed to humanity in general. I recognise that there are in English often several ways to put a particular phrase, so am pretty relaxed about either version above- there IS no right or wrong, I suspect. But yes, I'll get an Official ruling later......
And we weren't taking the piss out of Harry- we were taking the piss out of YOU.....besides, I get more sense out of him usually. he'd certainly win a fight (unless I got his goolies early on......): but I could beat him in a spelling-bee with one hand tied behind me back. The only word he knows is 'woof', and he can't even spell that. But dogs aren't required to know English, you see (well, it might not have seeemed obvious to you), just the stick-chasing Thing, and the rubbing-up-against-trouser-legs Thing, and scoffing everything Thing, and Advanced-level Barking etc etc............

Now you're trying to goad me a second time by 'pointing out' that you were only joking, when that was already patently obvious- which is why I replied in like vein. As you know full well, it takes a great deal to offend me: say, having my knob cut off, or being given the wrong change in Tesco's, or being forced to eat my greens.
