'low-tax'? surely you mean, no-tax?

if taxation is robbery, shouldn't our desire for law and order cause us to be against ALL taxes? otherwise, to take your assertion to its logical conclusion, we would have to be pro-theft - which wouldn't be a very moral foundation upon which to construct a new jerusalem.

what an interesting world a no-tax world would be, though - one where absolutely everything resides in either the private, or the charitable realm, presumably. would government be privatised, or become a charity? indeed, would we still require a polity of any description? there's no reason why fiddlesome stuff like elections (i'm presuming that people would still favour the democratic organisation of society) couldn't be taken over by a private company or a charity specifically set up for the purpose.

and best of all, freed from the yoke of the ravenous political classes and their incessant filching, we'd be rich! RICH, i tell you!

There's certainly a conflict between the US Right's espousal of 'Christianity' and their practical politics.
At least our lot pay lip-service to the notion of a safety-net.
