Saving Pictures - Help!!!

Hi there

Can any of you IT experts help me out?? Up untill a few days ago when I wanted to save a picture I just clicked on it and clicked save target as or save picture as and it was saved as a jpeg.

Now when I click save target as it defaults to jpeg yet when I click save picture as it now defaults to untitled bitmap? Also I could once save a web page and extract the pictures from the saved folder however, now I can't save a folder.

I am running Windows XP and my isp is AOL. Any help would be very much appreciated!!!

I've had that problem a couple of times and it went away just as mysteriously as it had arrived. Bloody annoying though.

hey smithy, u need to clear out ur temporary internet files on TOOLS>OPTIONS its because ur comp doesnt have the space..u might like this link

Spot on ID, clear out any temp files, off line stuff etc, it frees up more memory, thats whats causing the problem..........

A REAL pain. Download it and then re-open it and save as a jpeg. Drawn out, but the right result. I'll try ID's suggestion as well

yeh i still get some that save as bitmaps, i kinda assumed thats just the way they are on some sites, a lotta my fav pics of tereza fox are bitmaps and i have to convert them via paint before sending to ppl...sucks. but i think thats a dif issue to this one

Its a strange one though because bitmaps are bigger than jpgs.

...with a different 'data-storage protocol', my Interweb Mole tells me......

What I found frustrating was not so much that they downloaded as bitmaps but that they were untitled bitmaps so you have to assign a name to each one.
