Soccer-Big Teams Hiccup

Post by Deuce Bigolo »

If someone had said to me before the start of the season
that Bolton would beat Chelsea at Stamford Bridge 2-1
and Liverpool at Anfield would lose 2-1 to Southampton

I would have said your Life is beautiful

cheers

No disgrace to losing by an own goal in the 91st minute. Bolton knocked out Liverpool in Carling Cup a few weeks back, and one of the few teams that play for their shirt and NOT their inflated wage packet. Same with Southaqmpton.....limited but strong with a REAL desire to win

The West London of my youth is now on dvd

True Bolton has beaten most of the big guns over the last few years

Southhampton are always a chance because as Gordon says
All you have to do is cross the ball into the box to create chances-simple

Think Glen Johnson needs a good kick in the backside for his lame defending on the line

As usual John Terry in the right place at the right time to score another O.G.
Poor bugger

Southampton and Bolton, no dis-repect, but they can both be difficult (bogey) teams, especially near the end of the season facing relegation....

Its not like they don't have some quality players that can hurt you big time

JJ Okocha for mine is the most creative midfielder in the league

They just don't have big enough squads to compete with the big boys all season long

Southhampton finishing in the Top half of the league is just a sign of good management

He is good, but a fancy dan with it. He will bag a stunning goal in a game, but see how many he misses and fluffs. A managers nightmare, great when they play great, a NIGHTMARE when having an off-day. Think of Paolo Wanchope, and you'll get the idea.
Best midfielder for years was Roy Keane, but check 'our' Claude Makelele for best midfielder. He has to be up there, as is Patrick Viera. But Like Keane, Viera's injuries are taking longer to mend. A sign of getting on a bit. Pity, as a neutral when not watching/following Chelsea, well worth watching...........except if they are ripping 'your' team apart

Keane has been the best midfielder in Premiership history followed by Vieira and Zola. At present I think the best is Scholes, who does stuff no other playerv can and is rated as the best in the business by both Henry and Vieira.

At Chelsea the only indispensible midfielder currently is surely Lampard, who is brilliant at the moment.

The only surprise about the Liverpool-Southampton result was that it wasn't actually a surprise.
