Does anyone go in for all this malarky! I mean, a drinks a drink, at a pub near me, there is a local 'real ale' group of bandits, they nearly all have beards, apart from the women (although I dont know about down below) they order a pint and sit and watch it for about 10mins whilst it 'settles' then before drinking it they usually smell it, then discuss any 'problems' etc, If I was the landlord I would ban the fuckas, I mean you just go in the pub order a drink with yer mates and talk about fanny,s, what could be nicer?
next they will be swilling it round thier mouths and gobbing it out in a bucket, like that fruitcake 'Jilly Goulden' who can taste mouse piss and roofing tiles in a Merlot!

Re: Real Ale............
I have had a few in my time Ace ? Real Ales not birds with beards. The worst one I ever got was something called Sheep Dip, well whoever named it wasn?t fucking wrong, one other corkingly bad one is something they call White Lager which is basically a 3 quid pint of cats piss, steer well clear ...
PEOPLE think Stephen Hawking is so clever, but when you ask him a question and he is typing in the answer on his little screen, how do we know he isn't just looking up the answer on the Internet?

Re: Real Ale............
Discussing Ale you must be taking the piss
A product made largely of water...whats to discuss?
No different to those tossers that talk about wines I guess....smells like a summer breeze leaving a light taste on the palate of citrus....just drink it
Everything tastes the same once the taste buds have been flooded anyway so its a load of bollocks IMHO
Letting it settle....i can understand if when poured it resembled an ice cream
but otherwise pointless....
Whats the deal with Guiness?
You seem to wait long enough to have a 3 course meal...another aquired taste that I haven't
cheers
B....OZ maybe if I cleared my Nose I'd smell the Summer Breeze

I have a 50ml bottle of Sheep Dip in front of me now. It is an 8-year old Pure Malt scotch Whisky distilled and bottled in Scotland for M.J.Dowdeswell
of Oldbury on Severn Gloucestershire.
Also in front of me is a 50ml bottle of Pig's Nose Scotch Whisky. On the label it states that in Gloucestershire 'tis said that our Scotch is as soft as a pig's nose.
I have also seen 50ml bottles of Rumpy Pumpy Cider, one can only imagine that this rather potent stuff.

Re: Real Ale and REd Wine
If you want to become an expert buy Jancis Robinsons Wine Course
Tells you everything that you need to know
I'm no expert especially when it comes to knowing which wine goes with which food apart from White Wine in Heat with Cold Food and Red Wine in the Cold with Hot Food.A sweeping rule no doubt which has many exceptions
In the end its all down to personal taste...no shortcuts I'm afraid
I tend to go for the middle of the road Cabernet Franc or Merlot
very rarely touch white wine of anysort.I'd rather drink mineral water in the heat than wine
cheers

Oh, really?
Excuse me, but isn't all ale real ale? unless it's imaginary ale, of course.
Anyway, real ale = real sick, believe me.
