Speed Limits on roads

Post by nosey »

Is there anyone out there who can definitely tell me if the 20mph speed limit outside some of the schools in my home town apply 24 hours a day 365/366 days a year? In other words even if a school is closed for holidays we still have to observe the limit, seems silly to me especially on Christmas Day.

yeh all speed limits apply all the time as far as i recall from reading my learning to drive books high way code etc about a year ago. the school two doors down from me is on this road and its a 30mph thro here...and the ones in town is on a 30 too. both primary schools....try and comprehend that if u will when the high school and college areas (albeit busier) are big open roads and like 15 feet wide pathways and they are a 20mph.....fucking council need me to help them :|!

well if that were the case then surely there'd be nothing wrong with doing 60mph when its 4am and there's no one on the roads.
saying that though, i don't think it matters what speed restrictions are imposed, no one seems to observe them, the majority of people drive too fast regardless of what the speed limit is.

as a scooter rider can i just ask everyone to calm down a bit on the roads, is it really that important that you get from a to b two minutes quicker than everyone else?

yeh ur right goldenballs but its all relative. like i said some areas you wouldnt dream of going the limit because of the obstructions etc... like i mentioned the 20mph around the school/college is just agonisingly slow for big roads and most ppl do like 25-30mph which is all right.

its the c***s that drive around at 40plus mph that piss me off and the aggressiveness that goes with it.
its one thing being a terrible driver constantly endangering everyone else on the roads, but its always these people who give out all the road rage and are the first to beep their horns if another car gets too close.
