Remakes that should NEVER have been made

Post by Ace »

I saw about 5 minutes of The Jackal a few nights ago, shit springs to mind.
Get Carter is another, but some that SHOULD be remade include JAWS. The technology now would make that rubber shark seem a LOT better, imagine Tarantino directing? Guaranteed a blood and gore fest!!

The West London of my youth is now on dvd

Re: Jaws/Signs

The Jackal is what happens when two A-list players sign up for a straight-to-video script, something to pay for the swimming pool maintenance between better things, one supposes. As for Jaws, a while ago there was talk of the FX being digitised over for an anniversary re-release, but I can't recall what became of it.

Not a bad choice, though, although I don't think QT could summon up the requisite suspense. M. Night Shaymalan, perhaps? Only recently have I seen Signs (his best film, and miles better than I'd been told), and when it dropped the clumsy religious concerns and concentrated on being a creepy SF thriller this viewer watched parts through his fingers - and that's not happened in years. A genuine suprise.
