Virus detection

Post by mart »

My recent re-install gave me AVG instead of Norton. Funny thing happened straight away, it found 4 infected attachments in my old UK email-strange that Norton never did. But there's no record of them on the log file.
Now its detected a Trojan that it can't quarantine and I can't locate it. It's apparently somewhere in ContentIE5 and called activeinstaller[1].dll
What do I do?

PANIC!!!!!

The detections sound a little bit bogus to me if you kept the anti-norton virus program up to date

Either way I'd run CW Shredder followed by Hijack This from
and post the log to the same forum

They will tell you exactly what needs to be removed

If you haven't already done so I'd suggest running
adaware & spybot in lizards locker

cheers
