I couldn't resist that pun but should add that Townshend is one of my favourite writers and The Who are just phenomenal, I began to feel bad as soon as I'd posted! When I heard that stuff about Townshend being busted for kiddie porn I just wanted to believe it wasn't true and that he was indeed just being (Very) daft poking around on the 'net.

think the kinks are in a class of their own really when your about 8 or 9 hearing thse songs on a reel to reel tape they stand out even when punk disco new wave come out the kinks were still playing having minor hits.

Hmmm..... tricky one as I love both the Stones and the Who. I don't think anyone could argue that both John Entwistle and Keith Moon were not incredible musicians but I'd argue that Keith Richards is a much, much better player than he's often given credit for.

I've had the debate loads of time as a Pink Floyd fan that Nick Mason isn't much cop as a drummer but for my money he's all that is required within Floyd. Likewise Entwistle and Moon sound incredible in The Who but would sound totally wrong on the Stones' body of work.

I'm sat firmly on the fence on this one!!
