Hi,
I'm looking for a bit of technical advice.
I have just backed up my internet favourites folder onto a floppy disk so I can use these on my lap top (old one with no cd rom).
Now every time I use the internet and click on a website or any page of a website on my PC the floppy disk squeaks everytime as if it's trying to access something there on the floppy or trying to back it up automatically even though I have taken the floppy disk out and therefore there's no floppy in the drive.
It's never done this before on any files that I have backed up and don't know why it's doing it now.
Anybody know why it's doing this and how I can stop it doing this?
I'm not that great with computers so advice would be great so thanks in advance guys.
Technical advice please

Checking out the settings on the floppy disc drive
It might be a good place to start
Under settings/control panel/system/device manager/disk drives/floppy
depending on what operating system your using
The forums at &
are always useful for these niggling little things
cheers

Hi,
Ok thanks for the advice mate.
I have gone to the control panel as you said to do and it seems to have cured it but quite how I managed to achieve this I'm still not sure. Anyway it's ok now and that's the main thing.
Thanks for the computer forums as they maybe of help in the future.
Thanks again.

Us Novices really don't understand everything that happens when we use programs to complete tasks which is a bitch when something goes wrong
I've found problems sometimes disappear and appear all by themselves
Just part of owning a PC
Plenty of forums out there fortunately with people having similar experiences
Certainly beats ringing the computer help line where you get someone who is as experienced as you with computers
Another 2 which I always have found useful
cheers
