I see...Maybe Woodgnomes or PhilKs suggestions would be a better bet then

I've had an email account at for 2 months and the filter has let 3 pieces of spam through....6mbs of capacity

I'd say because you have unsubscribed to spam your current email addy is a dead duck literally.

I have tried Spaminex and it comes up with errors when I try and install it says something about wrong folder or folder missing. Mailwasher is a no-no because I don't want to just name certain email addresses. I get emails from normal email accounts questions from Ebay members etc which I need. I just need to stop all these porn emails, viagara ads and loans. Please someone help. I have a Bt Internet email address which I have used for years and don't want to change. I shouldn't have to. There has to be a way round this. Please help.

I think there's no easy way at present. My ISP screens for virus and spam and even that isn't perfect. Over the last couple of days some spam got through and when I checked the ISP's spam folder I found it had intercepted a couple of legit. emails.

If you want to keep the same email addy I'd be emailing BT
to see what they have to offer as a solution. It would seem their filter isn't up to scratch if my yahoo experience is anything to go by

When I used to use Outlook Express I used to access my addy through first to delete all the spam
and then access outlook express for any real messages left

Hi mate.
Mailwasher is good as has been said already. but it might be an idea to consider using Sneakemail.

They're totaly disposable email addresses. Therefor, if ever you do start getting spam, simple, just delete it and change the address for a new one where its used.
I've been using them for over a year now and get no, yes, NO spam.

But of course the best way to stop getting email is to stop posting your addy :)

Furthermore, DONT unsubscribe when a spam email asks you to, this simply confirms that your email address is active.

Hope this helps.

I don't mind the odd one slipping through but I am getting 100 a day now and it's ridiculous.
I'm worried if I use a filter I won't receive my Ebay emails and questions from people on there :o(

I take it your BT filter isn't turned on then?

If its anything like yahoo.co.uk the spam is actually just re-directed into the delete box and kept there for 30 days then deleted for good

You can peruse it and redirect to the inbox

I have no spam filter. I don't want to receive junk mail but it seems there is no solution. I guess there is no cure for spam then. Ah well :o(

And yet your ISP BT claim that they do on their internet site

All ISPs provide filters in my experience...might be the best place to start
if you think all of the programs above useless

This site has a few other programs which might do the trick

One things for sure by unsubscribing to so many links you've made a rod for your own back

Would be easier to set up a new addy IMHO
