That drive is only a 4 speed write and there are 8x ones available today (Liteon LDW-811S for example is about ?110 all in), however, having said that the price for the Sony drive is good (but its online only, its 130 in stores) and at least you can ask PC World if it will fit into your machine as they sold you the E Machines computer.

I have had a Pioneer A105 for 6 months - and it is brilliant.

I have 3 80gb Hard Drives full of "interesting image files " !!!!
