Theres nothing wrong with having a mobile phone IMHO
Its all how you use it and what you use it for
As one financial counsellor said...only use SMS if you have something urgent to tell the other person
In the end its all about education
and seeing through all the marketing hype
In the end its all about common sense
I've seen people paying $AUS100 dollars aussie a month in bank fees because they were too lazy to use their own banks ATMs.
Withdrawing small amounts of 20 & 40 dollar every other day at 2 to 3 dollars a pop because they have no discipline if they take out larger sums
Pure stupidity.....and these morons wonder why the banks are making record profits
cheers

In the end you can teach your kids right & wrong but learning form harsh experience is usually better
I think a lot of the problems occured with prepaid phones which for some reason didn't mention that sms calling didn't come off the balance remaining but were charged at the end ofthe month seperately
A very devious plan devised by the mobile phone companies
Which explains why the parents weren't wise to the fact
Thinking that the initial outlay was going to be the only cost
Of course the bills were in the kids name so the parents never saw them
cheers

That's miserly behaviour by NZ standards Deuce. I commonly see people paying for a coffee or a soft drink on their plastic. What makes it even worst IMHO is that most of the banks here are owned by bloody Oz.
My other hates at the moment are
a) SUV's - I don't know the stats. for NZ but I read this morning that 1/6 of new cars in Oz are now SUVs.
b) Those silly trendy 3wheeled baby buggies.
Back to txting. Did God really give us opposable thumbs for that?
