i cant really see the sense of it,much better idea they could rerun the test card till 5.00pm that would save loadsa money too.

Don't discount all those great US shows like Oprah,Judge Judy & Dr Phil

Possibly Life changing IMHO...maybe not but certainly more interesting than nothing

bbc1 has just run a second series of 'afternoon plays', which like the first series was far superior to much of the peak time offerings.

for some reason they have not repeated them in an evening slot. which is plain stupidity, concidering their quality.

Sadly, single play drama doesn't do it in the ratings---and that's all TV channel chiefs care about. Play For Today and the likes were a way for aspiring writers to get their foot in the door. Plonked on in the afternoon, the work is likely to be less cutting edge---and will also be seen by a fraction of the potential audience later in the day.

its rubbish,cept for the streets of san francisco at 14.35 on ch 5 but i tape that anyway and watch midnight.[fave eps so far,the 1 with michael parks as a rapist/larry hagman as a dj,,brilliant.
