Cue: "Hello- the Alcoholics' Edition"...........
'We take a look round George's luxury vomitorium in Docklands, show stills from him beating up his latest squeeze in a drunken rage, and feature the latest range of designer-grot broken furniture and the new 'crashed-into

Re: George Best
That (apocryphal?) story about the hotel bellboy who walked in to George's suite, where he was surrounded by oodles of champers and a couple of blondes, and said: 'George, where did it all go wrong'? now seems sadly burdened with a new irony............

Re: George Best
Totally with you on this one bro.
It's as sickening as the after effects of a huge tragedy and all the wankers on TV spout the same bollocks of "We must learn from this tragedy" OH WHAT? SO THE FUCKING SIGNS WEREN'T OBVIOUS ENOUGH???
Somebody else deserved that transplant. Somebody who wanted a second chance & would have made a better job of it.
Spot on with how the donors family would react.
Had the slag knocked someone over & killed them with his D&D, then what?
Donated to the donors cause?
Yeah once upon a time he was a good footballer.
Now? He's a burnt out wanker who is hero worshipped by anoraks.

Re: George Best
I managed to seriously put my foot in it and offend his son Callum Best, the last time i was out in the states Sandie and myself were out having dinner when we started getting chatted up by a group of 3 "pretty boys" i didnt have a clue who they were anyway one was English, one Australian and one yank anyway to cut a long story short the topic went to us being brits and one asked if we had heard of George Best, to which Sandie replied yeah, he's Gorgeous! at which point i piped up "well at least he was befor he became a raging alchoholic and fucked himself up" they all went quite until Sandie asked, your related to him arn't you? yep i'm his son! he replied, i tried to soften the blow with saying i was sorry.. but its true, anyway they still tried to get us to "leave" with them. We declined i will add.
Re: George Best
did they take it ok when regected or did they get angry?
Re: George Best
lolll thats pretty funny. Having said that if someone says "have you heard of xxxxx xxxxx" then they are almost open to negative feedback not just good things. Why didn't y'all say yes then hmm

.......it always intrigues/amuses me when children of 'celebs' trade on the parent's fame.
Completely without merit, and deeply, deeply sad: why not make a name for yourself, instead of trying to bask in reflected glory?
Of course, in Boy Best's case, that probably wouldn't be all that good an idea- you'd have to take up drinking as a full-time occupation.

Re: George Best
True enough but saying who you are isn't necessarily the same thing as trying to cash in on your parents name. rebekah said "one of them said" so I suppose that doesn't necessarily mean it was Callum who was asking.
I find it interesting how they dont seem to do anything (offspring)...still spending your youth floating back and forth from LA has to be reasonably good fun
