Think he wants to retire on a high note, or he does not want to get beat by Vitali Klitschko who wanted a rematch from their fight last year after he had Lewis beat but Klitschko was bleading so Lewis was awarded a lucky win and retained his belt. Lewis may not want to meet Tyson again incase he gets beat and so having beaten him once has nothing more to prove.
Tyson may have lost as he wasn't at his best in that fight but he is still top draw and I for one would love to see a rematch with Lewis..
Lewis may not be the best heavy weight boxer but I think hes made his mark in boxing history for the Brits along with Frank Bruno. Perhaps its time Audley Harrison steps up to the plate.

His record as Champion (18 defences, against an average of 5 by the likes of Marciano) should speak for itself. The best heavyweight of his generation- not his fault that the opposition was often so weak.
The Klitschko result proved what the Americans had denied all along- that he had heart: and why should he go up again against a washed-up psycho rapist whom he'd already comprehensively beaten? Does he have to continue until he's scarred or brain-damaged, just to satisfy our blood-lust?
Audley? Is that a porker flying past my window?

I happen to know a fair bit about boxing, and acknowledge LL as a 'great', BUT without taking anything from him, he beat an aging Holyfield and a 'past-his-best' Tyson, and in truth, wouldn't have beat sluggers like George Foreman and Joe Frazier in THEIR prime.
Marciano's record is SO good as more than 30 of those fights were against bums, whereas LL record has to be complimented as he DID fight names.
A tad lazy in his training, he WAS beat by Klitschko last July before winning on cuts, and in his heart, KNEW he'd be beat in a rematch.
I happen to think that he fought for Britain as boxing in Canada or Jamaica wouldn't have brought the attention he had fighting for his 'homeland'
But he did the right thing, we all wish him well and its nice to see a polite, well read person keeping his marbles after the fights.
Expect the Klitschko brothers to dominate the next 5 years.
Harrison? Forget it, he's not hungry enough and has the money already. 1st defeat and he'll stop......mark my words

The West London of my youth is now on dvd

I've met the man on the street............and he's a cunt

I'm glad to hear Lennox is retiring as he won fair and square against Tyson and i remember watching that match live on the TV i thought then that Tyson shouldn't of begged Lennox to a rematch should of held his head up high and said you are a great fighter and i'm happy for you and then annouced his retirement as he is past it ok he might of been a great fighter but watching that match you could see he wasn't his best no more.
Time for Tyson to move on and do something different why not try something new............i don't know maybe try Hollywood......lol....Like The Rock has done from WWE.

So we're in broad agreement.
I'd add the point that Lewis is/was hated by the fight 'mafia' because he was the only thing that truly terrifies them- a boxer with a brain.
And it made a pleasant change to have a 'champeen' who didn't play the publicity game.......
