Following on from the Traffic Warden thread, is there a job you Couldn't/wouldn't do?
I know I could/would do ANYTHING, except working in an abbatoir or a research lab involving animal experimentation.
Any jobs for forumites that are deemed shit and 'couldn't do it?'
Shit jobs
Re: Shit jobs
most, but thats more because of being socially inept and self conscious than having issues with something

Re: Shit jobs
Working in a hospital kitchen- hard work, long hours, terrible pay & conditions. [Nice bunch of people to work with, though. I think you have to be, just to survive........]
Also:
Anything to do with call-centres.
Emergency services, when there's a tragic fatality.
Security Guard (see hospital kitchens, plus the danger of getting hurt, and the silly quasi-military uniforms).
Sewer worker.
Anything viewed as 'menial, whether by oneself or one's employers/
superiors.
But they're ALL an awful lot better than being unemployed...........

What are wrong with call centres? I was thinking of doing some of that - relaxed dress sense etc....

Re: Shit jobs
I never judge anything until I've done it
Most jobs have that repetitive menial nature about them but they still need to be done
As my wise father said life is about people which to me meant the job
matters not but the people you work with do
I'm always reminded of the guy who's dream it was to run a shoe store
Saved every penny possible while working 3 'menial' jobs and when the day came to purchase the franchise the seller said for both our sakes
before you buy come in and do 1 days work just to be sure
After 1 day he knew that he'd made a mistake and all because of smelly feet...probably thought he'd be fitting up ladies of the ilk that used to parade through Al Bundies Shoe Store
cheers

Re: Shit jobs
Staff are apparently treated like shite. Best you talk privately/frankly to a few of the emps before accepting.

Re: Shit jobs
There's certainly no disgrace in doing a so-called 'menial' job- it's just hard to put up with other pompous fuckers' attitudes.
