Just watching the new Adult Channel stud series - sorry, but it's crap. I think the Adult Channel commissioning editors have been leant on.
Well, that's enough for me - I intend a bit of leaning of my own. I'm going to cancel this month.
After our exchange here a few days ago, I emailed the Adult Channel - they didn't have the courtesy to reply.
They are very good on "the strongest on British TV" etc in their freeview. Well, after more than a year's experience, I can tell you that's all crap - despite employing the best Adult directors in Britain.
It's only ?9.99 a month - throw it down the drain if you want to. Even Granada Men & Motors is better (by a mile) than The Adult Channel at present.

I'm afraid I missed the latest stud series, I've been out drinking tonight. But if it has pissed you off, then I will apologise on behalf of the channel. But if you wish to cancel your subscription, then by all means please do.
No British channel can show hardcore, that is the law and if either tvx or tac led you to believe that that was the case, then I apologise even more.
I hope Granada Mem and Motors gives you the satisfaction you deserve.

Sorry to get into this argument again but I don't think it's the law that hardcore isn't allowed - it's the ITC's rule.
There's a BIG difference!!!
Btw, the ECU shown at 00:30-ish tonight ( Lucy Gresty and two others whose names I missed) was a bit tame. Was it an old one?

If TAC started to show hardcore then it would no doubt become a proscribed channel and would be banned by an act of parliament, so it is kinda of illegal.
As for ECU the other night, I don't actually make that programme, so have no idea if it was an old / lame one.

Sorry, BJ, it dawned on me when I woke up this morning that I'd got my girl/girl producers mixed up!

The commissioning editor you refer to is me. Firstly I apologise for not replying to your e-mail. For some reason, it didn't filter up to me. Secondly, you say you think the new stud series (Superstud) is crap. Please tell me why. I commissioned the series on the perceived success of "Uniforms". That series was seen on this board as one of the most popular as it looked quite raw and hard. Is this not what you are looking for from The Adult Channel? And if not, what would you like to see. I am giving you all a unique oportunity to influence my future commissioning decisions, so please let me know.
I see my job as very much trying to keep the customers happy, as without their support there would be no channel.
As for the legal stuff, at present it is impossible to show hardcore material on any UK channel. Without going into the if's and but's, the bottom line is that we are granted a license to broadcast by the ITC. The ITC are given their guidelines by The Home Office. It's not quite as easy as just showing some hardcore to push the boundaries and force the ITC to change their minds. If we break the rules we will be shut down the next day. Maybe one day the law will change, but until then we have to toe the line.

As I understand it, the new human rights legislation is one of the main reasons for permitting hardcore magazines and videos (because to deny me access to them is to violate my human rights, presumably).

nice to see someone from tac (the adult channel) finally popping their head over the parapet! 
i've been a subscriber for a couple of years and would like to see more variety in the programming you broadcast.
for instance - there's virtually no opportunity for interaction with the tac audience, at present. i would guess that "sxtv live" is one of your most popular shows, so why not develop other programmes that make use of the phone-in? what about developing shows that take place in front of a live studio audience or programmes based upon viewers requests?
of the current shows "michelle's slut search" is a favourite, with the episode in a soho fetish club being particularly good. this is because it was shot on location rather than in the sterile environment of a studio. it would be great to see more shows that makes use of funky, spontaneous locations.
what about commissioning a magazine programme about all things adult in the uk? you could report on sex clubs/on site video shoots/well known models in a non porn context/reviews of the latest r18 releases/web sites/sex expos, etc. the sex industry has expanded dramatically in recent years, so there's plenty to cover and a growing audience for information about it.
you could organise a 'tac' roadshow and shoot the no doubt, crazy exploits of the girls, as they travel the country bringing your channel to a grateful nation!
in short, there are many ways in which you might diversify your current schedules beyond the core programming of 10/20/30min sexploits!
btw, although you state that the law will need to change before you can go further in what you commission. if you compare what is acceptable today to what was allowed 5yrs ago, when the itc were iffy about allowing people the sight of a dildo, things do change but oooooh sooooo sloooowly. it's not just a matter of law!
