Apart from Amsterdam, Hamburg was the place to visit for live sex shows in the 70's and much of the 80's. There were dozens of club theatres in the St Pauli area offering this type of entertainment. Generally the ones on the area's main street, the Reeperbahn, were second rate and tourist traps. The ones in the side street called Gross Freiheit were mainly first class. The Safari, Tabu, Colabri and especially Salambo being outstanding. The sex was certainly not simulated. Invariably there was always some sexual activity going on the stage and providing it was reasonably busy much activity in the audience. The stage show was designed for a mixed audiences as opposed to a 'stag do' type. We have seen that many times in Soho. As Rock says, the Safari is probably the only one still going. The last time I visited Hamburg the once glorious Salambo was yet another pole dancing club. In actuality Eastern Europe and possibly Spain are now the best places to visit if this is what you are looking for.
