Was slightly shocked to read this tonight:



Apparently he made a remark about Desailly which was caught in a live feed (not in the UK though) and has resigned with immediate effect.

I for one will miss his commentaries as it's always a laugh trying to work out what the fuck he is saying, lollipops being just one example. Also, the way he calls Scholes 'the little ginger feller'.

Seems like his mouth has got him in trouble this time.

Everyone makes mistakes, I called me brother a twat the other week, so he hit me, then we forgot about it..................after I came out of intensive care, I say let Big Ron back on telly, he might have a face like a bulldog chewing a wasp, but he,s sheer class at making gaffes....
I remember Peter Schmiecall(sp) calling Ian Wright something along those lines and it was picked up on TV live, but nowt happened to him, and now I see the Gaurdian has dropped him, bunch of twats!

I wonder if he'd said "Fucking lazy....../Jock/paddy/eye-tie/taff/ginger tosser" he'd be out of a job.

My view is he made a gaff, a bad gaff, a very bad gaff, but in the heat of the moment, in a rant, he used a word that would merely be another way of saying black in his era.
