No mention was made of its age, so a reasonable person might well assume that it is of relatively recent provenance, and therefore not polishable, buffable or otherwise amenable to being given a vigorous shining.
My palaeogeology is a little rusty, true, but I can't recall any mention in the literature of Weatherfield being a hotspot for coprolites, either..........it's full of shit, certainly, but not of the fossilised variety (unless we're talking about Ken Barlow, of course).
