Techie help wanted - Rt click disabled

Post by mart »

Its annoying when you get this message when you are legitimately in a site. Material gets downloaded to your TIF anyway. Is there any way to circumvent this annoyance?

Only by down loading the complete web page, then edit in front page, leaving just the graphic.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I should have added I'm trying to use a downloader and I suspect that "Rt click disabled" stops that from working.

Downloader? Webstripper or just a Download Manager?

Are you talking about Video or Pics?

If its Video you can forget about it completely...never heard of streaming being able to be downloaded ever

Its all aimed at making it fair for all members of the site

Plenty of the bigger sites have further protection than just right-click disabled I believe

Simply to stop those on broadband downloading the entire site in a couple of days non stop while their off doing other things. You can imagine that if every broadband member was able to strip sites automatically the dial-ups wouldn't get a look in

Most Humongous Vid sites only allow 2 downloads at a time for this very reason

If you search under 'html protection' you'll turn up website tools
which not only disable the right click but specifically stop automatic downloading such as webstripper dead in its tracks

Unfortunately there are parasites out there who strip websites and set them up elsewhere under a different name

The rest of us innocents pay the price
