Yeah, whenever I catch a whiff of two-stroke the nostalgia fair engulfs me as well. I dig Jerry Clarkson to; he's from round our way you know. Love his wit, sense of humour and general worldview.

As a young chap, not yet au fait with all the ways of the world, you're probably not familiar with the term 'afternoon delight' but I'm sure someone will explain.

You want to talk life, love, the universe and the true nature of existence? Bring it on (but in a new thread.) These are issues that I too (contrary to your analysis of me) find fascinating and often ponder.

Yeah, its true that Jerry hailed from a posh village near Rotherham (as did William Hague) and attended public school. But he's still a no-nonsense South Yorkshire man at heart. Don't know about his mum's bear factory though.

It is an engineering masterpiece. If you don't get it you don't like cars. Fast, solid, reliable, fairly economical, it doesn't rust, holds its value and is a great fanny magnet.
Like a Rolex Oyster, Fender Stratocaster or Linn Sondek it has stood the test of time and is still at the top of its class.
