I'm running Windows XP - I have a number of programs which start up automatically on startup which are redundant eg an ISDN monitor (I don't have ISDN). Further if I try to remove them in Control Panel/Add or Remove software they don't show up in the list - nor do they show up in the "Startup Directory"
Does anyone know:
1. How I can find them to remove them and
2. How I can stop them loading on Startup ?
TIA

How to use MSCONFIG
=> about half way down this page, it shows how to stop XP loading programs at startup (with screenshoots).

Re: Techie Problems
according to this thread Mdata.dat, it's about a missing mouse driver (lost after installation/reinstall)
"its actually a mouse thats been uninstalled so reinstall the drivers and this solves the problem"
