TVX vs. R18

Post by RG »

I haven't actually seen any of the shows or films that get shown on Television X, but I have heared that they can be fairly hardcore. So, which is better - subscribing to TVX or spending a lot more on r18 vids. Just how much of a difference is there between a hard TVX show/movie and a hard r18 vid?

The same amount as there is between Page 3 of The Sun and Page 3 of Color Climax.

There is a huge difference. TVX is soft, R18 is hard. However hard TVX claim to be they cannot show hardcore material. In any case if you're going to subscribe to one of the UK channels I recommend The Adult Channel, they seem to show better programming with less repeats.

Despite claims to the contrary TVX can't show hardcore (the occasional one slips in, I mean by) but by licence they are bound by the same broadcasting act that governs all TV in this country. That means, in effect, that the material is no stronger than C4 or C5....

What Paul says isn't strictly true. They are bound by laws given by the ITC, but there are differences between the laws for encrypted TV services. i.e. they and TAC can go stronger than C4 and C5.

Scampi is quite correct, ECU could never be transmitted in full on any 'terestrial station'

What is broadcast on TVX is, generally speaking, 18 certificate stuff. However, UK based productions have more recently been shot in both hard and softcore. As Paul says, hardcore shots do creep in from time to time, and it is now a regular occurance that penetration and/or other acts are not simulated. In that sense, some of what TVX (and TAC) show rests awquardly between 18 and R18, but it is nowhere near the kind of material you could buy at a sex shop.

Sorry to be pedantic but by 'terrestrial station' you presumably mean 'un-encrypted terrestrial-only station'?

I only have terrestrial tv but I get both TAC and TVX.
