Spybot-new upgraded program available

I only mention it as after running adaware,old spybot & cw shredder today
and finding my system free from any spyware/malware

I downloaded the new Spybot,ran it and discovered to my chagrin a bug called Alexa

I keep all my programs up to date which says a lot

My adaware is probably corrupted...would explain why it takes the best part of an hour to scan 2 GBs

I know its counted as low but I take little notice of ratings...low/medium/high I believe is more about security than anything so all unwanted programs pose some threat....filling your email addy with spam

I've always resposnded to computer posts-Spyware is my specialty subject (even though I know very little about computers)

Intimidated....Not Likely but then I wasn't named and even if I were
it wouldn't change my posting

No idea where Caratacus is...possibly just reading as I said i would
to see what repsonse Crofters plea would get...who knows?

Magg,s showing slight shades of Mr T., fantastic!, we need more damn fool sucka type stuff to cheer the place up, instead of Bush fucks up, and Blairs an arse, we already know that!, we need to know life changing things, like peoples food intake, record knowledge, bowel movements........shit like that.

It removes a trojan called cool web search which keeps mutating
the developers of it have tried to give CW Shredder a bad name because its so effective

Other programs like spybot & adaware don't seem to cover all the different versions and as this trojan is being continuously redeveloped
its not a bad idea to run it every now & then



I've used CW SHredder hundreds of times and its removed 1 item in that time

It removed CWS.Smartfinder

Adaware & Spybot totally missed it or bypassed it

My rule of thumb has been add the program if it covers something the existing safeguards don't.

I use it occasionally purely because the author says it cleans up what adaware & spybot leave behind

The alternative to using the above programs is to upgrade your security
especially your firewall

When I trialled Zone Alarm Pro nothing got onto my computer

Its nice using freeware programs but they really are inferior with few exceptions because they are only part versions
