Probably best not to rely on the type of Americans who came up with this list to provide an accurate summary of European history.
"mostly lost the hundred years war" - an interesting analysis of a conflict which began with the English Crown controlling vat swathes of France and ended up with the English Crown controlling Calais.
"Or, better still, the quote from last week's Wall Street Journal: "They're there when they need you.""
Yep - that must seem better still when you consider the support given by America to Britain and France during the Suez crisis.
Sad thing is - whoever put this lot together probably thought that it was an example of sophisticated and scholarly satire - when its really just an example of ill-educated xenophobia.
