I try to avoid the wanky 'Celebs' page in my local rag of an evening. However, on this occasion a Liz Hurley photo caught my eye.

Seems Liz had tried to get herself a private pre-sale viewing at a posh antiques fair in London recently, on the grounds of her 'celebrity.' Now, tasty though she undoubtedly is, Liz can't act and her celebrity is based on nothing more than looking pretty, wearing a nice dress at a party once, and going out with Hugh Grant a few times.

Happily, the antiques fair organiser was not swayed by Liz's G list 'celebrity' told her (though her P R Mann) to fuck off and get in the queue like everyone else! What a groovy chap. And what a groovy anecdote. Fair warmed the cockles of my heart it did. This is the kind of celeb story I want to hear more of.

Liz became so absorbed with the divi world of contemporary celebrity that she was even heard to suggest that Monroe, the ultimate love goddess of the 20th century, was fat! What she meant of course was that Monroe was woman shaped and had curves!

When you see MM in Some Like it Hot (I've got it on DVD ) esp when she fronts the band in an evening dress at the hotel . It is quite shocking how much more flesh she has on her bones compared to todays uberwaifs . Some Like It Hot - One of my top ten films of all time. A true classic. Marilyn looks fabulous in her black dress - a small waist pulling into focus her ample tit's 'n' bum. Hmm, mmm. He was just about to storm out when Marilyn wafted down the stairs in a cloud of perfume looking delicious, came over, apologised for being late, reached up and kissed him on the cheek. He melted.
