Yes, the BP garden vandalism was guiltily amusing, happening as it did in an era of stuffy Beeb sanctimony vs. ITV's more anarchic/innovative approach to kid's TV - the Tiswas legacy and such. Beeb soon hit back with a beefed-up, drug-addled Grange Hill mind.
BP badge? A high scorer in one of their many drawing contests. 'Look at the detail on this one,' breathed the little-seen Tina Heath, a fragrant hand caressing my pride and joy. Such innocent times.
p.s. I certainly didn't buy Aled Jones' single, but I did once make that coat hanger Xmas decoration they feature every December. Like the Sindy doll/Action man mock-ups they still lovingly do, this is part of BP's original egalitarian remit to cater to the children of parents who couldn't afford the proper shop stuff. There is still something deeply touching about this.

Ahhh yes. I haven't heard that phrase for years. I went to a government school in Oz with lots of ' pommy migrants ' . The chicks from the rough bits of England were so grown up compared to our girls and used to talk dirty which I loved. I thought that phrase was an Aussie thing as I hadn't heard it elsewhere but maybe it was imported.
