Thunderbirds

Post by Ace »

Just seen a trailer on TV (Big Brother adverts) and it looks pretty good unlike some of the TV shows from the 60's and 70's that have been desecrated on the big screen like Flintstones and Scooby Doo.
I do know Captain Scarlet is in production IF Thunderbirds is big.
I also read that Wacky Races is being made.................can't see THAT being better than Cannonball Run...........the same ilk

The West London of my youth is now on dvd

I always liked Captain Blue , he was very brave and modest , and he used to run risks as big as Captain Scarlet took .
I've met Lady Penelope , she is only 18" tall you know .

How ironic: obvious CGI being the modern equivalent of seeing the strings.

......and this time round they won't have to fake the US accents.

I wonder which Hollywood girlie they'll cast as Lady P?
A pity, as I'd always thought of it as the part Joanna Lumley had been born to play- until Patsy came along, of course........

A Brit playing an English role?
Bit radical, that.

Bet they offered it to Gwynnie first, though..................

With Noel Gallacher as Parker :->

Hate to disappoint Ace, but I fear this is going to aimed strictly at the kids. They've reduced the age of Alan Tracy and Tintin, and given them some chums of the same age (12/13?) to save the day when the rest of the team are caught by The Hood (ouch!).

I liked the Captain Scarlet programme better---but that might have been because of the Angels.

'Hate to disappoint Ace, but I fear this is going to aimed strictly at the kids.'

It certainly seems that way - its US release date pitches it against The Village, so they'll be aiming for a different (younger) audience. Perhaps they're hoping kids won't notice how absurd Ben Kingsley looks as The Hood.

p.s. Gerry Anderson is already working on a fully CGI-animated rendering of Captain Scarlet (...and the Return of the Mysterons, as it's called) for television next year. But will his voice still be based on Cary Grant's?

aimed at kids, Im sure, but I still watch re-runs of it and Capt Scarlett. Remember Norwich and Everton manager, Mike Walker? He was a DEAD RINGER for Colonel White!!
Noel Gallaghers eyebrows for Parker, coupled with Ray 'Diamond Geezer' Winstone for the voice..........
