I think everyones being too hard on this guy.
This is a guy who has achieved a consistant top ten ranking for many years, and with one exception, has made the quarter finals or semi every year for the last decade.
His ranking is exceptional when you consider the woeful state of tennis in this country, with his nearist british rival (not counting the Canadian) not even breaking the top 100.
Its not as though he's been bragging about winning Wimbledon, the hope and despair has been brought about by the media and fans heaping such expectation onto him.
Considering its only a few years ago when people were celebrating a british player making it into the second week, it really pisses me off when someone who does make it through get slated for trying his best.
I don't think he'll ever win it, but there are a lot of good players who never win a slam either.

He's a lovely chap and all that, and I have no personal animus against him, but the simple truth is he's barely got a title ANYWHERE to his name. Yes, I blame the idiot fans mostly, but isn't it so typically British that we celebrate second-raters and plucky losers so much?
BTW, next year put yer wad on Baltacha to reach the quarters......now THAT's someone worth following -although my Probation Officer has warned me I'll go to gaol next time I'm caught ;-o

Re: Wimbledon
She'd have made the quarters last year if George Best hadn't done the dirty and swapped livers with her.
