There was a Quim who made a brief appearance in Scottish football a few years back, about the same time as the equally titterlarious Cocard.

...and the English had Mike Trebilcock.
BTW, Greece vs Portugal final- what a disaster for the sponsors/
advertisers, eh?

My heart bleeds for them.
It really does.

Made for an interesting tournament, though---with the departure of the negative Ities, the dull Germans, the underachieving Spanish and the unrealistic English, a neutral could sit back and watch and enjoy the tournament. Course, the sound had to be switched off so you didn't hear those little Englanders Motty and Clive namedropping Rooney and co all the time.

Well done to Greece, who'd never won a game at a finals before this tournament. Gives hope to many lesser nations. But why did they get the good German coach and we ended up with Berti Vogts?????

Because they have sunshine. and Scotland doesn't.

But you DO have Elena Baltacha.........sort of.

Greek non-tragedy

Post by The Last Word »

Ironic you call England unrealistic - Greece were arguably playing the same sort of game England try to: tightly defensive then swifty attacking. The difference being Greece didn't act as if going one-nil up is some sort cataclysmic set-back to winning the match.

And they had better, less-hyped players than us.
