Its a classic. Tune in or record for sure. As a kid i was "forced" to sit through it with my sister when i was about 7 or 8 maybe and to be honest its the only film thats ever properly scared me, partly because of my age but also because its got the best concept.....ur not even safe when you are sleeping....superb. Johnny is great too...as ever. Gotta respect any man who made the decisions he's made

Never been a fan of these films(even the halloween and jason the 13th series i find boring and teduios at times),(Strange enough some critics has said the best freddy film is "freddy final knightmare" not sure if its the 6 or 7th one but its the one where the lady lead relives her character for real, and her boyfriend gets killed on a studio set while working with freddies hand.

There is one tonight called wishmaster starring robert Englund about a evil genie(that quite ok)think its on channel 5 about 11p.m.

ain't it strange that robert Englund is only ever be used as a actor just playing freddie(never seem him in much anything else just mainly horror stuff).

Carl (kriss Kross)

i can tell what is a good comedyish horror bloodthirsty film(the Evil dead series, especially sam raimi Evil Dead 2,bloody laugh that one is)

OK youve really pushed me over the edge this time Carl....not liking Nightmare i can dismiss, not being a fan of friday 13ths ( i love 80s films so they have a special place in my heart) i can also pretty much forgive. But not liking Halloween?!?! Seeing that film like 5 years ago with my two best friends at a lads night a fwe years ago was one of the pivotal moments on our adolescence! Its a true classic and even the sequels are enjoyable, specially part 2....soo much atmosphere and the music...mmmmm. wont hear a bad word about the best slasher film ever (cept the daddy Psycho for being the daddy)

Btw the film you meant was Wes Cravens New Nightmare, i had that on vhs somewhere, kinda liked it but felt like i shoulda loved it. 1994 it was made and basically it was the first of the "post-modern" era of horror films and films in general like Scream etc which brought back the teen slasher with irony and in jokes. :)
