Words and music by Elvis Costello's dad i believe.
My fave advert was Lloyds bank one featuring Quentin the troll, a brave knight and a bank clerk handy with a sword. Any one remember it?.

Think it might have been a Carling black label ad, where it starts off as a western then turns into a milk try kind of ad then the cowboy apears in it and runs into another advert....think it looked as there were 3 adverts but it was all 1 ad that was funny and cleverly made. Any one remember that one...it was an 80's advert.
Who could forget the Flake advert, with the sexy girl, ringing phone & a lizard!! think it was Roger Taylor (Queen drummer) girlfriend or misses?

Any sensible adult knows that adverts are a cue to LEAVE THE ROOM
Alas these days the shows in between tend to be ads as well
Some ads might be clever & occasionally amusing but hardly worth remembering
Just like bloopers & peoples making asses of themselves
but alas they both have shows with a dedicated following
cheers

Re: flake ad
yep i think it was Roger Taylors other half, i think her name was (still is perhaps) Debbie Leng or something similar. Another flake girl was Katrina skepper who was linked to Prince Andrew i think

Going back a bit but....I remember the Mannequin cigar ads very fondly. And those cartoon/hard-boiled detective ads for Tic Tacs.

I liked the Stella Artois deathbed/final wishes ad that ended with the priest unwittingly holding the empty glass.
"Let's do it..."
