The subject of Chavs has become extremely boring.

It may be boring to you mart, but for many older members of what used to be termed 'the respectable working classes' who have been left behind on post war council estates, it is becoming a nightmare, and it is one of the top two issues that now seem to dominate space in local newspapers (the other being poncy speed cameras). On the whole, most manifestations of Chav culture are seriously crap and a major irritant to such as I, but for many sections of the population it poses serious quality of life issues. We should not walk by on the other side of the road, just because it's 'boring' or even because it challenges the foundations of the belief system we have adopted and invested so much of our academic and cultural lives in.
