Thanks a lot. I've always liked this film after a fellow stude showed it to me during my MA years. Most predictably bang on about its 'consumerist' subtext (yes, and?...) when really its Romero's marvellous tableaux-like direction that's the real pull.

Good to see Romero back in action too, what with both jokey rock-zombie pic Diamond Dead and (finally) his fourth true zombie pic Land of the Dead lined up (in a future walled-city those fighting the dead have turned to rich/poor segregation - sounds fab).

Although a fan, I can't work out how they managed FOUR DVDs from a 90-minute flick.
BTW, that theme music throughout the film (yes, the one that sticks in your brain like cement)- anyone know the title (so I can, um, avoid it....)?

Finally George A. Romero's 1978 zombie classic has been given the treatment it so rightly deserves.

Romero's final fully-mixed and edited "Director's Cut", a tag which is often erroneously attributed to the "Extended Version" (a.k.k The Cannes Film Festival Version).

Disc Two: Extended Version - Originally created for use at the 1978 Cannes Film Festival, this version runs 12 minutes longer than the U.S. Theatrical Version. the extra minutes are comprised of various scene extensions and some additional gore scattered throughout. This version is often incorrectly referred to as the Director's Cut. While this cut was overseen by George Romero, his legitimate "Director's Cut" ist he U.S. Theatrical Version.

Aren't there any other versions they could have included? Wasn't there a special , sub-titled with a Marxist-Leninist slant copy shown in the Outer Mongolia Film Festival in Ulan Bator.
But seriously, isn't this verging on the ridiculous or the obsessional?
