PEOPLE think Stephen Hawking is so clever, but when you ask him a question and he is typing in the answer on his little screen, how do we know he isn't just looking up the answer on the Internet?

I noticed that some of the hack reports mentioned that it plays lots of different media. I assume that this is intrinsic to the machine and not just the result of the hack.
I other words there isn't a hack that extends the versatility of a DVD machine.

My understanding of hacks is that they simply get around the 2 main barriers... regional coding and the 2nd I can't remember but its a similar secuirty device to stop Discs from 1 region being used in another

Hacks generally bypass the regional codes. SOme newer discs have RPC technology which can not be got round with certain hacks. The Matrix was the first disc to incorporate this new technology.
Some hacks also disable MACROVISION. This is an electronic signal modulated into the video signal which makes it very hard for a video recorder to record the signal properly. MACROVISION is generally not used on porn discs anyway as you have to pay to use the protection on your discs. It is definately there on Hollywood DVDs so if you plan on recording these to video tape make sure you can get rid of MACROVISON.

Yes, that's where I bought mine, so thanks for the advice. All I have to do now is get a Region 1 disc to test it out.
