Re: A Levels
I assume that Dibble is referring to this year's A-level students obtaining a 96% pass rate.
Re: A Levels
i would expect the pass rate to be high because people who do a-levels have chosen to pursue education rather than go off to work. they are not obligatory and are "usually" the more academically gifted who take them...so for most ppl to pass them is not that big a deal or surprise in my book....and thus thats why i think dibbles being a cock in a blender.

Re: A Levels
Quite right, ID. But they're still piss easy compared to the A levels of old.
"Let's do it..."
Re: A Levels
But an exam where (virtually) everyone passes is worthless, as its impossible to differenciate between people.
I don't know why they just don't go on percentage marks, instead of A-U.

We have need of you again, great king.

Re: A Levels
it would come to a point where everyone gets 90%+
it is true that the A levels are easier now as a consequence of the silly drive for league tables. My brother did the same A level paper as me 5 years after I sat it, the stuff was the same but the syllabus was only two thirds of the one I sat so surprise surprise the results get better but the questions stay the same, fuckin' sneaky eh! and this was five years ago, god knows what they are like now

I wasn't making a statement; I was posing a provocative question.
