Your final song request would be?

Post by Arnold Layne »

for me

Comfortably Numb by Pink Floyd

Period.

Never have I been so moved by a song,

"This one's for my man "T"...
& it's called Wish you were here"

Hmm. I always liked the Peter Sellers trick of having a song that you hated played at your funeral. The fact that Milligan, Secombe and Michael Bentine were pissing themselves as 'In The Mood' was played at Peter Sellers' funeral and everyone thought they were sick has always appealed to me.

But Comfortably Numb's a good choice.

If I was being serious, then something stirring by The Corries, or a lone piper (but far enough away that people wouldn't throw rocks at him).

Either that, or the rousing sound of Rangers and Celtic fans beating the tar out of each other!

Funnily enough, I have to agree with you on that one Arnie.
That is the very song that made me go out and buy a Fender, that and Sultans of Swing

The guitar solo in CN is without a doubt the best I have ever heard.
The Delicate Sound Of Thunder version is my favourite.

But as a finale song? I'd have to say, Yet Another Movie.
The lyrics would be so damned fitting

He has laughed and he has cried
He has fought and he has died
He's just the same as all the rest,
He's not the worst, he's not the best

And still this geaseless murmuring,
The babling that I brook,
The seas of faces, eyes upraised
The empty screen, the vacant look

Still.....Holden MacGroyn

Where the fuck did you come from?
I fucking paid that pikey slag to tamper with the brakes on your clapped out Vauxhall Viva and stick a bomb under your rickety bed in that nasty Caravan you call a "Mobile Home".
I even paid the dude at the bike shop to sell you a faulty Saracen.

WHY AREN'T YOU IN TRACTION OR BLEEDING YOU BASTARD.

see exactly, loony, you've proved a point again
the trouble is with a "loony", they don't give a fuck, and have nothing to loose, the death penalty was abolished, wasn't it?

Did you get that Cornish pasty I sent you? I sent Holden one as well, but with iron filings in it, as he said he likes savoury things to bite on..

Morbid sod that I am, I've already made my wishes known.

Always with me, Always with you (Joe Satriani) as I go into the flames, followed by Four Seasons' Spring (Vivaldi)
We have need of you again, great king.
