Can Europe win the Ryder Cup??

Post by crofter »

All I can say is after watching this thrilling contest today, and after European games midweek(football), Olympics etc, I do not think anything catches a nations or a continents imagination such as this, after Europe?s great start is there anybody willing to bet against them, absolutely brilliant stuff from Monty and the boys, and the good news is the guys who have been left out in reserve will step in and win points, ala Casey, Poulter etc, these guys are not lightweights as years before and will make a name for themselves before this tournament is over, Woods and Michaelson a partnership??
come on pull the other one? could there be any different players than Woods and Michaelson?? yet they seem to be the rock that America seemingly will flounder on.
PEOPLE think Stephen Hawking is so clever, but when you ask him a question and he is typing in the answer on his little screen, how do we know he isn't just looking up the answer on the Internet?

yep, I think we will win again in the usual way, get a good lead in the team game and hang on in the singles.
I do think that the states are not good at international team sport, individual yes, but how many team stuff have they won in any sport.
Look at the olympics, loads of medals, mostly swimming, track n field and gym, can't think of much in team stuff, or any other team stuff in any sport
it's not a dig just an observation, plus totally off on a tangent, ah stella

yes diplodocus, your observations are probably 100 per cent correct, but at the end of the day isn?t the joy of this ryder cup with disregard to say the last few on American soil, how quiet have the Americans been on this outing, sure they have toned it down as they were warned to, but I cannot help but think that the events of 9/11 have had more of an effect than possibly a lot of people thought??

Isn't it just the greatest spectacle in Sport. I'd even say better than the World Cup and way ahead of the Olympics. This contest is now the best. Fantastic for it's competition, skill, sportsmanship, passion and entertainment. I've been watching it for over 20 years and it just gets better and better every time. I just wish I could afford to go and even play more but I work in the porno biz so I can't afford it.

Never say never

Even Monty referred everbody back to a recent contest where Europe was leading D1 6-2,D2 10-6 and lost

Given that Mickleson(I don't play on Wednesdays and I'm an International Disaster-look at my record)has been benched you never know

cheers

I'd delete sportsmanship

Remeber the infamous American 'Cattle Stampede' of players wives & girlfriends on the final hole not that long ago

Should have lost the match for that...talk about tampering with the pitch/green

cheers

Heat of the moment stuff I'd say Deuce. It was no worse than Garcia earlier jumping around. It looked worse because there were just more of them.

Mart we've established your ignorance in your first post, give it a rest now.

I loved the interviewer who said to Hal Sutton that it was possible for Europe to win a day early, and if that happened would the americans bother to turn up on Sunday. Sutton's reaction was class
