whoa whoa whoa i will not hear a bad word about jack dee! Jacks "sneering nastiness" or whatever you said is part of his whole miserable and pissed off persona, i dont think hes at all like that in person - in fact ive never read a bad thing about him. The fact his characteristics as a comedian are that way doesnt mean you should judge him in any way other than if you find him funny or not...

Jack Dees standup comedy videos/dvds have got me through some really miserable times, they are perfectly timed and suited to my humour. He really is much funny on stage/on video than on tv shows

Yes I must admit I find the guy completely tedious but I bought an absolute comedy gem on dvd yesterday..."Early Doors - Series One"....belter!

English comedy at it's best. If there is one thing we do fucking well in this country it's comedy!!

Dee-plorable.

If comedians were judged on material alone then Bremner, Bird and Fortune would equal Peter Kay in DVD sales, but that's not the case, is it. With comedians the personality is the vessel for material, with the material very often reflective of the personality. As such, I've always found Dee's miserablist persona entirely affected and his embittered material equally false. And unfunny, of course.
