How spineless are governments?

Post by jj »

......the latest in the burgeoning Iraqi 'kidnap-industry' has once again set our betters to the usual, predictable, gnashing and clenching.
We (the West) have repeatedly rewarded these petty criminals, who have not even the thin cloak of religious purpose to disguise their greed....yes, it's a terrible tragedy when ANY individual is forcibly taken- but the ONLY way to prevent a repetition thereof is never, NEVER, to capitulate to their demands.

Being associated with causing a hostages death doesn't win VOTES

So you have to be seen as doing all in your power

The best case of irony I've seen so far was Little Johny sending a delegation of Negotiators over to Iraq but our policy on terrorism is no negotiation

Seemingly taking action but not taking action

What else would you expect from a trained Lawyer turned Politician(he had great potential to be a muppet-if only he were born in the US of A)

cheers

What info. are you privy to then jj? I'm not aware that there's been much giving in to kidnappers demands from the British end. But you seem to be motivated by some other agenda these days. Wtf are you talking about?

He's probably referring to several Nations pulling out their support from IRAQ to save a hostage or 2

Very Noble but counter productive

Spain springs to mine

One asian country...south korea?

I assumed he was referring to something really current/ UK relevant. JJ seems to have lost the plot. But perhaps I'm biased after his recent attack on me.

Wasn't aware that there was a 'British' in the title.

You brought it on yourself mart. If you didn't talk and act like a knob you wouldn't be on the receiving end of nearly so many tongue-lashings. Here endeth the lesson.
