Same with 'J-Lo' and all the rest, their desirability is vastly over hyped by the trash media. It's all about business and money. The big studios and those with publishing interests need to manufacture screen goddesses (?celebrities? might be a better word), as nowadays business just can't be put on hold until a honest to goodness superstar emerges and is seen, by common consensus, to be fabulously alluring, gorgeous and desirable - like your Monroe?s, Taylor?s or Welsh?s. Nowadays, show business is so frenetic and cut throat that you've got to have someone out there to generate and focus interest in your movie, studio, or program. So, what do the movers and shakers do? They choose a girl, any girl, so long as she's reasonably presentable, pliant and uncontroversial (corporate cunts hate controversy- frightens the share holders). Then they pay big bucks to hype her up - photos in the magazines accompanied by gushing 'Wow, Checkout The Latest Sensation From Hollywood' type articles - which kind of suggest to the reader that this is a girl they should be creaming over - appearances at backslapping awards ceremonies and premiers (but not talk shows or serious interviews - that could backfire and the public would see what a stupid, vacuous, airhead this new 'star' was (Ginger Spice, Brittney, Rachel Stevens anyone)? The trash media are more than happy to play along ? they?ve got themselves into a position where that need a never ending supply of so called 'celebrities' to feed to their moronic, uncritical, readership, instead of actual ?news? - which they would find boring and difficult. It?s quantity, not quality that counts nowadays.

Most of the female stars they push at us (you wouldn?t have had to push a young Monroe or Taylor at geezers with blood in their veins) seem unspeakably bland and sexless nowadays. It?s not just down to business and economics, is politics as well. The politically correct ponces and intellectuals who were at uni in the 70?s are now movin' and shakin? in Hollywood, and indeed the mainstream media worldwide. They hate to see women portrayed as sexual beings (tits and bums, red pouting lips and garter belts) as though their only reason for being is to attract a man (with afor mentioned tits ?n? bums) make a home, and then bear children. To counter this the PC ponces now veto any images of girls who look overtly attractive, feminine and stimulating to males, and instead force feed us with bullshit images of slim, desexualised, females who have ?attitude? (i.e., lippy and lairy) can handle a Uzi 9mm, beat up a gang of hardened bank blaggers (single handed) and are ?independent mined (don?t give a fuck about anybody or anything). In short, ?they? don?t want you to see women as women, as being feminine, as sexual entities, but as equals ? much like your mate ?Dave?, ?Terry? or ?Darren? Which is why you don?t really fancy shagging many of the birds nowadays.

What to do about it? Just tell ?em all to fuck off. Tell ?em their so-called stars are about as interesting, stimulating and alluring as a soggy loaf of Asda sliced bread. Tell ?em you?re not interested in ?em and you don?t want to see ?em or hear about ?em. Tell ?em you?re not buying their papers, movies, TV programs, etc till they come up will some overtly sexual and attractive females, maybe in the mould of, say, ?Cleo Rochos? the stunning, big titted, Brazilian beauty who steve56 will recall from the ?Kenny Everett show. Or Vicki Michelle from ?Allo, Allo? Now, they?re the sort of birds I want to see more of.

I take your point Caractacus, but we chaps are not the ones actively putting ourselves forward in that commercial arena. We are not selling our image or physical charms. We not saying 'Hey, hire me. Put me in your movie. I'm the coolest sexiest dude in the land and I'm sure to pop your customers corks, no problemo'. No, we are the customers, and thus entitled to pick over the merchandise.

Then consider the one thing that has changed(and not for the better IMHO) is the Celebrity Youth Market has expanded to those as young as 5/6 years old.

Its which ever demographic has the most disposable income and is willing to throw it away the quickest that the Powers that be will listen too...Youth again...just look at the Mobile Phone Bill epidemic with SMS texting that is currently growing at a scary rate

Todays Manufactured Trashy Celebs are aimed squarely at the youth market because they have no responsibilities and plenty of disposable income(wether its daddies credit card or their own part Time Work) which their not shy about spending
